How to Laminate Your WiFi Sign

Laminating your WiFi sign is the single best thing you can do to protect it. A laminated sign is waterproof, wipeable, and can last years instead of weeks.

Why laminate?

Unlaminated paper signs get wet, greasy, dog-eared, and faded. In hospitality, food service, or anywhere people touch things, a laminated sign lasts years. It also looks more professional.

Types of laminator pouches

Use 3 mil pouches for most signs (stiff enough to stand on a counter). 5 mil is even stiffer — great for signs that get handled. Choose matte finish to prevent QR code glare; glossy looks nice but can interfere with scanning.

Laminator settings

Most home laminators have a letter/A4 setting. For 5×7 and 4×6, use the same setting — just place the sign in a pouch with a carrier sheet. Let it cool flat before framing.

Alternatives to lamination

A picture frame with glass protects the sign and looks more elegant. Acrylic tabletop stands also protect from spills. For outdoor use, weatherproof printing services exist at most print shops.
