How WiFi QR Codes Work
A WiFi QR code uses the WIFI: URI scheme to encode your network credentials. When a compatible phone camera reads it, the phone automatically offers to join the network.
- •Format: WIFI:T:WPA2;S:YourSSID;P:YourPassword;;
- •Special characters (;, comma, colon, backslash, quote) must be escaped with a backslash.
- •iPhone (iOS 13+) and Android (10+) read the code natively — no app needed.
- •Always test your QR code with the "Test QR Code" button in WifiWhale before printing.
- •Print at 100% scale and ensure adequate white border (quiet zone) around the QR code.
